Hana’s work and explorations are informed by anticolonial and decolonial frameworks across different times and forms. She believes understanding colonial legacies is instrumental to locating her positionality from which to examine the contemporary order of things — infrastructure, modes of production, knowledge circulation, and the ability to move in the world.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Bina Nusantara University and a Master’s degree in Philosophy and Literature from the University of Sussex, where her dissertation “The Alternative Media as a Critical Counter-Public” was awarded distinction.
She has worked as a technology reporter, culture editor, research analyst, and technical proofreader. Hana maintains a book-review page where she shares her reading when time allows.
